Connection

Connect to your why. People don’t get fit and healthy to achieve a goal, they get fit and healthy because of why they want to achieve that goal. Eliminating ego and connecting with the overall vision for your health and fitness is the first key in discovering a strong enough drive needed to take you all the way to your ‘Maxfitness’. Without it most people will find themselves unable to maintain a level of fitness they’re happy with for long periods, go in and out of diets or disconnect with health and fitness altogether.

Decision time. Once you’ve established your vision, it’s time to decide to go after it! Anyone who’s made a conscious change in their health and fitness will talk about the defining moment where they made the decision on what they were going to achieve. Fear and pain can be strong motivators here, easier to find and prevalent throughout the fitness industry, however at Maxfitness we believe it’s important to go deeper here, avoid fear and negativity and find the motivations that are positive and align with your values. By allowing fear to be your driving force, whether you succeed or fail in your goal, it will keep you in an endless cycle of dissatisfaction.

Challenge

The art of goal setting. The most important thing here is to really understand and connect with your personal core values. These are different for everybody and as well they should be. Therefore challenges need to be carefully decided upon on an individual basis and not an endless supply of generic 4, 8 or 12 week challenges that are all designed to trigger fear based emotions and marketed for accordingly with superficial bells and whistles. The problem with any of these quick fix style approaches is that people find themselves in a never ending loop that’s rooted in negative emotions and often lose motivation. Great for the fitness industry, not so good for the individual.

Reassurance

The elimination of fear. Do you set a goal because of pain, insecurity or a fear that reaches a certain threshold? Most people do. And in many cases the goal can be achieved. However what comes after is not the long term happiness, contentment or fulfilment we desire, rather the transfer of that fear to another area, or the need of another stimulus to create the same fear threshold to accomplish the next challenge. The fear of running a race turns into the fear of running a longer race. Fear of not losing the weight can turn into the fear of putting the weight back on. At Maxfitness we don’t believe you have to live your life like this. Aligning your personal challenges to your core values and being aware of fear based thoughts that may arise, allows the individual to transcend those fears and unlock a whole new paradigm that’s much more powerful and requires no will power.

Perseverance

Now you’re going for it! The fun part. When you’ve selected your challenge in the right way, then persevering with that challenge is a whole new exciting experience. Whereas in the past your goals required you to will yourself into action on a regular basis often times to your detriment, now you’ll be free to put your best self forward at all times regardless of the results. This is where you learn about yourself, what you’re capable of and most importantly feel as if everything is progressing as it should be without sacrificing other important areas in your life.

How bout that, you did it! However here is where true humility is shown. There’s no desire to post your achievements and receive the maximum amount of likes. You’re still aligned with your values and you only seek more growth so as to inspire and motivate others even more. You’ll more than likely receive more genuine acknowledgment for your achievements than ever before however ultimately your sense of self worth is not tied up in the acceptance of others. You simply want to be your best self and have the capacity to add value and contribute all you can for as long as you can.

Belief

Life without fear. A confidence in yourself and a self belief that’s not over confident, not arrogant, not believing that you’re superior to anyone and not needing anyone to be inferior to you. To truly not feel inferior or superior to anybody and celebrate others achievements wholeheartedly. True confidence is the capacity to accept or reject any challenge in the absence of fear. To have the ability to put your whole self forward in any challenge in life regardless of the result. To experience life without fear!
